IMAM ABUBAKAR AHMAD KAMALUDEEN

NATIONAL IMAM OF THE SHIA MUSLIM COMMUNTY-GHANA

PROFILE

Born on 25 March, 1962 in the Greater Accra, Imam Attended the Kaneshie Senior High Technical School-KATECO in the Greater Accra in 1982 where he attained O` Level Certificate. He started early Islamic education under the tutelage of his late father Sheikh Kamaludeen Abubakar former Deputy National Chief Imam of the Republic of Ghana. Imam studied at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt during the early part of the 1980s. He proceeded during this period, to the Islamic Republic of Iran and studied in diverse fields of Islamic discipline in Hujjatiyyah, Qum Iran for Seven Years. In the early part of the 1990s, Imam returned to Ghana and assumed the position of a lecturer at the Ahlul Bait (as) Teacher Training Center in Zorwulu, Accra, for Three (3) decades. In 2010, after the demise of late Sheikh Abdul Salam Abdul Hamid Bansi, the Shia Muslim Community appointed Sheikh Abubakar Ahmad Kamaludeen as the National Imam of the Shia Muslim Community, of the Republic of Ghana.
